Charlotte Troop 164 has a long and rich history.  For over 60 years it has been sponsored by Providence Presbyterian Church which was founded in 1767.  The troop meets in the Fellowship Hall which is next to the current sanctuary (the church’s third) which was built in 1858 and is listed as a National Historic Site.

Troop 164 was chartered on September 26, 1957 in what was Matthews NC at the time.  We have been part of the Etowah District in the Mecklenburg County Council since 2002.  Previously the troop was classified in the following districts:

1973 to 1974-District 22
1975 to 1985-District 55
1986 to 1994-Elgixin District
1995-South District
1996 to 2001-Tsungani District

We meet every Monday from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm (except Holidays) from the middle of August through the middle of June.  Current Members please log in to the member only website at
